It is famous for the meditative approach it inspires. This massage relaxes both body and mind. Deep work relaxes the shoulders and lumbar area but Body-length flows are the heart of the sessions, including side work that is unique to Esalen. This is soothing as well as practical, and great for tensions in the hips. A bit of supported stretching is added to encourage flexibility and because it feels good! In longer sessions, Mayan Abdominal Massage (traditional deep work for the pelvic bowl) feels amazing and fosters digestive renewal. Lymphatic Drainage can also be added - a mostly light touch method to clear toxins from the body, which is also a conduit to deeper relaxation. My overall rating of this provider: Highly Recommended Would I use this provider again? Absolutely! The following are my expanded comments regarding my experience with this provider: I have been using Dana’s professional healing services for a while now and I am clearly in the best health of my life, with a tremendous amount of thanks to her! I originally came in for some work on my sports injuries, which she helped to heal quickly and has strengthened for the long term. What I find most appealing is her approach is for the whole body - physically, mentally, and emotionally - not just the immediate source of discomfort. She listens very carefully, is extremely intelligent and communicative, and has been very effective in healing me. I have complete trust in Dana, she makes me feel comfortable and at peace when she is working on my ailments, explaining what she is doing and the purpose of her actions. With such a wide expanse of knowledge, Dana has wisely counseled me on many areas, like nutrition, exercise, posture, relationships, and even financial matters (I am a finance person)! It’s always helpful when your healer has a great sense of humor, paints, sings, gardens, and has a wonderful optimistic nature. I always feel better after a session with her, whether it’s body work, acupuncture, lymphatic drainage, or holistic consultations. I am highly recommending the services that Dana provides, and am confident that you would benefit from even one visit! On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the highest, I would rate her 10+!
