Description: I graduated with an Associates in Occupational Studies in Massage Therapy from the prestigious Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences in NYC. I have a strong background in medical massage treatments to assist in pain management. I was a certified Emergency Medical Technician to get to know the Western medical community. I work from a referral basis, but was looking to find other creative ways to locate interested clients. Any client looking for a therapist to specialize a treatment to fit their needs, look no further.
I am also a professional musician, a private flute and piccolo instructor, and a former general music educator with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and a Master of Arts in Music History and Literature in Performance. As such, I have attained knowledge in assisting people with pain syndromes specialized to those careers as well as working with those on the police force, personnel in EMS, firefighting, rescue, and the military. I also have a strong background in working with geriatric and pregnant clients and those with various disabilities. I have worked with a variety of body types and can assist any form of stress induced pain, discomfort, or injury to allow for healing to do its job. I do NOT prognosticate, diagnose, or prescribe anything as these are not in my scope of practice. I might recommend drinking plenty of fluids especially water, or advise a client on specific stretches that might help the massage become more effective.
I find that many of my clients, past and present, have felt released when they leave my massage room. I have also had numerous reports of clients commenting on how I can "magically find all those spots that seem so hidden, but are causing the most problems". I have never had anyone complain about my work and most people find I am extremely intellectual about massage therapy and medical terminology. I have worked in hospitals and outpatient pain clinics, with chiropractors, and with physical therapists. I have even had the chance to work on doctors and nurses in varying locations.
I use professional grade materials only, and will require appropriate draping as the law of NY states (in other words, if it isn't being massaged, its covered). My treatments include: shoulders, back, the hips, legs, feet, arms, hands, face, neck, head/scalp, chest (no nipples and females will be draped), and stomach (dependent on time and what the client presents with -- pain, discomfort, or injury problems -- this may or may not be covered in every massage treatment).
Only those with serious inquires e-mail me. Not all massage therapists are able to work on all people. We all have special talents and a certain style or knack in our work and clients have to find that massage therapist that can make a difference; one who they can connect with and feel comfortable with. I will not say I have strong hands or arms as this is not proper use of body mechanics (although I do). I do have great body mechanics and can utilize my weight to give a great deep tissue massage or a lighter massage depending on the tolerance of the client. I will not also claim names of my clientele on any advertisements as this is illegal and I follow the guidelines of HIPAA and those privacy laws that are part of the US. So, any and all medical information will be kept confidential.
I cannot do outcalls unless it is for a corporate office chair massage event, where I spend a day at one location. Those prices are not listed here and if there are any companies interested, they should e-mail me.
Again, I do not do outcalls, so please do not ask me because I do not drive. I am legally blind (as in I have some sight but, not something that can be "repaired" or ability to drive with). So, if you have allergies to or are deathly afraid of dogs, you might not want to contact me, since I have a black labrador retriever for a guide dog.
The genitalia will NOT be massaged, so don't ask me. This is therapeutic massage only, no sexual practices will be performed at any time. Luckily, I have never had this problem during my massage career since I always state this up front.
Thank you for reading my profile. If you are still interested in contacting me, please e-mail me at the above address.
